The new round of the grant scheme could help you get equipped with some fantastic equipment!
The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) is a grant scheme set up by the Rural Payments Agency for specific items of equipment and technology for farming, horticultural or forestry businesses in England. Items that have been included in the list aim to help improve:
- farm productivity
- the environment
- animal health and welfare
- management of slurry
The current theme open as part of the grant is the ‘Productivity and Slurry’ theme. The grant is a contribution towards the cost of buying new technology or equipment from an approved list. Online applications are to made through The Productivity and Slurry portal which will be open from 21 February 2023 to midday on 4 April 2023. Successful applicants will have to pay for and install all items before they can claim a grant towards them, and ahead of the claim submission deadline in October.
You can apply for a grant if your business is in England and you’re a:
- farmer
- horticulturalist
- forestry owner
- contractor carrying out services to any of the above
Contractors can only apply if they have a registered business address in England. Contractors are defined as a business (including a sole trader) that carries out an agricultural, horticultural or forestry activity as a service.
FETF grants are for a minimum of £1,000 and a maximum of £25,000. The amount listed against each item is the actual grant amount that will be paid and is a contribution towards the total cost of the item. Regardless of how much is paid for an item, the applicant will receive the grant amount listed, whether it is less or more than paid.
